Creative Workforce & Leadership Development

Argenta Contemporary Theatre (ACT)’s Creative Workforce & Leadership Development Program provides hands-on training and real-world experience for artists, educators, and emerging leaders across Central Arkansas.

Designed as both a learning environment and a working model, the program connects participants directly to the day-to-day practice of creating, producing, and supporting live experiences—grounded in a spirit of collaboration, care, and hospitality. Participants build skills that translate across the arts, entertainment, nonprofit leadership, community engagement, hospitality, and event-based industries.

Participants work across ACT’s core areas:

  • Production – artistic leadership, production management, technical theatre, design, and the systems that bring work to life

  • Academy & Community Partnerships – teaching, facilitating programs, and leading community-based initiatives

  • Producing & Operations – project leadership, audience experience, hospitality, administration, and organizational systems

The program offers a continuum of opportunities:

  • ACT Intern (2–4 months): Unpaid, with academic credit; designed for students and early-career learners

  • ACT Apprentice (2–4 months): Weekly stipend with academic credit; focused on applied skill-building

  • ACT Artistic Fellow (6–12 months): Monthly stipend with academic credit; a deeper, project-based leadership experience

  • ACT Resident or Associate Artist: Professional-level engagement on a per-project, seasonal, or full-time basis, based on experience

  • ACT Alumni Artist: Continued connection and engagement with artists and leaders who have progressed through the program

By creating a flexible, multi-stage pathway, ACT is investing in the people who make creative work possible—onstage, behind the scenes, and in the community. Rooted in collaboration and hospitality, this approach strengthens both the organization and the broader creative workforce, supporting a growing network of practitioners and leaders equipped to shape meaningful experiences across disciplines and industries.

Let's Collaborate

Argenta Contemporary Theatre is currently seeking creative and production team members for our 2026 season and for additional programming throughout the year.

This submission form is intended for non-performing roles only. Actors are cast through our audition process and should not use this form.

We welcome submissions from directors, designers, stage managers, technicians, dramaturgs, and other creative collaborators working across disciplines and experience levels. Whether you are a long-time collaborator or new to ACT, we are interested in learning more about your skills, interests, and availability.

Our work is grounded in community, collaboration, and a shared commitment to high-quality, locally produced theatre. Completing this form helps us build creative teams for productions, classes, workshops, residencies, and special projects as opportunities arise.

Submitting the form does not guarantee placement, but all submissions are reviewed and kept on file for current and future consideration.

We look forward to connecting and exploring how we might work together.
