Growing up on a beef cattle farm in the foothills of the Ozarks, Jessica Crenshaw was surrounded by music of all kinds. Her mother jokes that Jessica’s first performance was in a restaurant restroom, where the three-year old belted out “This Old Man” so enthusiastically from the stall it drew diner’s applause. She continued to perform in church and school before accepting a music scholarship to Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia. After a semester trying to be a “serious musician,” Jessica found friends at the student newspaper and pivoted to graduate with a degree in Political Science and Mass Communications.
