ACTing Up 2026

ACTing Up 2026 invites young artists to spend three unforgettable weeks training, creating, and collaborating across three exciting program tracks: Musical Theatre featuring a production of Frozen Jr., Acting for Stage & Film, and Design & Production. Open to students ages 8–18 (rising 3rd–12th graders), with the Design & Production track limited to high school students ages 14+, ACTing Up offers a supportive and energizing environment for performers and creators at every level.

At ACT Benson/McAdams Academy, theatre is more than performance — it’s a pathway for creativity, confidence, and community. Our classes and workshops welcome students of all ages, from Kindergarten through high school, college students, and adults. Whether inside our building or out in the community, the Academy offers theatrical workshops, performance training, and creative learning experiences that nurture imagination and connection.As a proud member of the Educational Theatre Association (EdTA), we share in their mission: to inspire and support theatre educators to deliver equitable, transformative learning experiences for all. ACT Academy aligns with EdTA’s vision of building a global community of creative problem-solvers, effective collaborators, and empathetic individuals through theatre.

The Board of Directors of the Argenta Contemporary Theatre (ACT) is proud to announce the appointment of Coburn "Coby" Goss as the theatre's new Artistic Director. Goss succeeds Founding Producing Art Director Vincent Insalaco, who retired earlier this year. A North Little Rock native, Goss began his career at the Arkansas Repertory Theatre before building an impressive career in Chicago and beyond, with credits at Steppenwolf, Goodman Theatre, Off-Broadway, television, and film. He is also the author of the award-winning play Marked Tree and the film All Happy Families. "I am so excited to join ACT," said Goss. "Being from North Little Rock, I have followed ACT's creative and quality path since opening in 2010. My goal is to keep audiences coming back with stories that entertain, captivate, and inspire, while putting renewed focus on community, education, and volunteer engagement."
Board Chair Jeremy Ables added, "The ACT board was thrilled to welcome Coby home. His experience and passion for education will strengthen both our productions and our youth programming. The Board is excited about the future of ACT." For nearly 15 years, education has been at the heart of ACT—and this fall, classes will once again welcome students to learn, grow, and create together. ACT has always thrived because of the devotion of volunteers and a community that loves the arts. Looking ahead, ACT will open its doors in 2026 for its 16th theatrical season, celebrating resilience, creativity, and community spirit.
